Volunteer Department Rolls Out Red Carpet for Recognition Ceremony

<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />AllianceCommunityHospital's Volunteer Department rolled out the red carpet for the 2007 Volunteer Recognition Ceremony capping National Volunteer Week.

At this star-studded event, appropriately titled “Vollywood Walk of Fame,†the Volunteers were the “main attractions†and were treated to a luncheon held Saturday at TallOaksBanquetCenter in Sebring.


“You are in the limelight because you are the stars,†said Marcy Todd, coordinator of Volunteer Services at ACH.


The hospital currently has 250 volunteers in 48 service areas.


Sam Donohoe, director of Colleague Relations at ACH, commented that the hospital “cannot run without the volunteers.† 


Recognition was given for Auxiliary Officers, Board of Trustees, Volunteer Departments of the Month, Friends of the Volunteers Awards and Service Hours. Top service awards were given to Mary Bodirnea, Gem Star Award winner, for 10 years of service with at least four volunteer hours per week; Anita Benvenuti, 9,000 hours; Jack Madison, 11,000 hours; and  Rose Rhoads for 16,000 hours.
