Students needed for ACH Summer Teen Program

April 24, 2013

The Alliance Community Hospital Summer Teen Program is an opportunity for high school students ages 16 to graduation to volunteer over the summer months at ACH. While volunteering in this program is not an internship or shadow program, it does afford students the unique opportunity of gaining non-clinical experience in a hospital setting, while also gaining personal satisfaction of helping others. Only students of the summer program will be permitted to volunteer throughout the school calendar year.

The 2013 summer program will run from June 12 through Aug. 9. Up to 20 students will be selected to the 2013 program. The students are required to submit an application, as well as parental and guidance counselor forms. They will also have to complete an interview with Volunteer Services and attend an orientation. They will be asked to commit to a minimum of six hours per week to the program and will be assigned to open volunteer positions throughout the hospital.

We are excited to have the opportunity to offer this program and are confident that each student will gain valuable and useful knowledge.

Applications can be picked up in the ACH Volunteer Office or mailed by calling the Volunteer Services staff at 330-596-7821 or 330-596-7822. The application deadline is Tuesday. Once the application has been received, the office will contact the student with additional paperwork needed.
