The Alliance Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice will be hosting a grief camp for children and young adults. A session for children ages 5-11 will be held on August 8th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A session for young adults ages 12-17 will be held on August 9th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Both sessions will be held in the Silver Park Cabin, located at 2930 South Union Avenue in Alliance.

These sessions will explore how music, memory keepers and sharing feelings can help people work through the grief process. The camp’s children session will include play opportunities and crafts to help overcome grief. Children will also learn different ways to express their feelings and ways to act out their emotions. The young adult session will work on teaching campers how to create a journal and crafts to overcome grief. It will also teach them different ways to express feeling and ways to have open discussions about their grief.
