ACH To Hold Animal Food Drive

February 1, 2011

The Paws and Reflect Pet Therapy program at ACH is sponsoring an animal food drive February 21st through February 26th to benefit Sadie’s Pantry located in Alliance. The program will wrap up its week long drive Saturday, February 26th with a “meet and greet” with many of the dogs from the pet therapy program from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. in conference room 1-A at the hospital.

Sadie’s Pantry is a small grassroots effort started in February 2010 by ACH colleague Donna Miller, to help those who are struggling to keep their pets fed.  The pantry is open the third Tuesday of each month at the First United Presbyterian Church on Union and Market. It presently distributes 500-600 pounds of dog and cat food to over 100 families in local and surrounding communities each month to those who meet the federal poverty guidelines to help.

A collection container will be placed outside of conference room 1-A for donations. Donations can also be made at any Manhattan Cleaners location.

Please call the ACH Volunteer Department at 330-596-7821 or 330-596-7822 for more information.
