ACH recognizes volunteers

May 8, 2013

As part of the recent National Volunteer Week, the volunteers at Alliance Community Hospital were honored with a week's worth of activities. The theme this year was "Honoring the Spirit of Service."

The annual volunteer recognition dinner was held April 30. A special slide show highlighting all of ACH's volunteers was played throughout the catered dinner. After dinner, volunteers received hour award pins for their volunteer service. Special recognition was given to Jack Madison for 17,000 hours of service and Lola Stirtz for 22,000 hours of service. Both received a gift basket and a restaurant gift certificate. Mary Dragomir was recognized for 30 years of volunteer service to ACH and received bread for a year from Panera Bread as a small token of appreciation for her years of service. Hospice volunteer Marsha Graham provided musical entertainment.

Volunteers were also pampered with a spa day. It was an afternoon of relaxation, including a catered lunch courtesy of Panera Bread. Volunteers enjoyed foot soaks, soft touch hand massages and chair massages, as well great food and fellowship.

Those businesses that donated items and gift certificates to celebrate the volunteers and make the week extra special for them were New China Restaurant, College Inn, Grinders, Panera Bread and AVI Food Systems.
