On Thursday, August 16, 2007, the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />AllianceCommunityHospital will host its monthly American Red Cross blood drive.

The blood drive will be held from noon until 5:45 p.m. in conference room 1-A, located on the first floor of the hospital off of the Café.

Northeast Ohio is in the midst of a severe blood shortage.  Donors are desperately needed for all blood types.  Individuals who have not donated since June 22 or longer are encouraged to do so during this drive.

Donors can register by going online to or by calling the Volunteer department at 330-596-7822 or 330-596-7821 and the staff will schedule an appointment.

“The shortage of blood products is critical at this time.  We are inviting everyone who has not donated in a while to schedule an appointment for this drive.  We are also asking anyone who has never donated to take this opportunity to begin a life-saving habit!  It only takes about one hour to complete the entire process.  And that hour of time has the potential of saving three lives,†notes Becky Wilson, ACH Lab co-coordinator.

Donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds and provide a picture ID.

Any questions please contact to the Volunteer department at 330-597-7822.
