Podiatric Residency Program

The Program

The Podiatric Residency Program at Alliance Community Hospital is a 36-month Podiatric Medicine and Surgery (PM&S-36) approved program, which accepts three residents each year. The Alliance podiatry residency program includes over 25 faculty members encompassing suburban, urban, and rural hospital settings. Our residents are able to fully participate at the surgical and private practice level with our physicians. Residents have surgical privileges at many hospitals in the Northeast Ohio area including Cleveland Clinic Akron General, Akron Health and Wellness, Aultman Main Hospital, Aultman Orville, Infinity Hospital, Mercy Medical Center, Wooster Community Hospital, Summa Wadsworth Hospital, Summa Akron City, Salem Community Hospital, Hudson Surgery Center, Summa City Hospital, Summa Barberton, Union Hospital, Alliance Surgery Center and Alliance Community Hospital.

Top Quality Training

Our Podiatric residency program provides our residents with top quality training.   The program encompasses many aspects of lower extremity pathology including diabetic infection management, exposure to wound care, congenital adult/pedal forefoot and rearfoot pathology, and foot and ankle disorders. Podiatric residents at Alliance Community Hospital will experience a high surgical case load, weekly rotations with wound care specialists, and spend time in the private practice sector. Some of our program requirements include hosting our annual fall podiatry seminar, weekly didactic presentations, and annual ACFAS research posters. The three year residency curriculum can be seen below.
