Volunteers Provide Large Variety of Services at ACH

Volunteers at Alliance Community Hospital find more than 52 service areas from which to choose! What do you enjoy? Offering a Soft Touch hand/arm rub to a patient? Treating patients to freshly-baked cookies? Discharging a mother and her precious newborn? Assisting shoppers in our unique Gift Shop? Making everyone’s day better with a pet therapy visit? Holding an anxious patient’s hand?
Whatever it is, we have something for you! We offer our volunteers - nearly 300 of them - many unique and challenging opportunities in more than 50 service areas.
To become an ACH volunteer, it is as simple as picking up the phone and calling our office (330-596-7822 or 330-596-7821) Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Or, just click on the button on this page and fill out one of our applications and we will contact you to complete the process.
Once a volunteer has received our packet of information or filled out their application on-line, we invite them to a monthly “Ventures in Volunteering” orientation – attendance is required for all volunteers. This is a 4 hour class held the first Tuesday of every month. We cover all aspects of volunteering from patient confidentiality to serving in a Planetree facility. Reservations are required for this program and can be confirmed by calling the volunteer department. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.
Our program is diversified and challenging. We work with each volunteer’s schedule and availability. We also take into account individual skills and talents as we determine a service area that the volunteer will find most enjoyable.
We invite you to contact our office for further information on our program!
