Alliance Community Hospital’s Pharmacy is proud to be the first hospital in northeast Ohio to use eMAR, which uses barcode technology to prevent medication errors. Medications are stored in electronic cabinets, which enables them to be more quickly and accurately dispensed to patients. This sophisticated system aids staff in dispensing medication exactly as ordered by the physician, helps in monitoring for possible side effects, and greatly reduces the possibility of complications due to allergic reactions or adverse drug interactions.
As a patient-focused department, pharmacists are stationed in the patient care units. They teach patients about prescriptions and work closely with physicians to monitor patients and make sure medications and dosages are correct.
