Critical Care Services

Critical care services at Alliance Community Hospital consist of an Intensive Care Unit, a Progressive Care Unit and a Dialysis Service Department, offering 24-hour care to critically-ill patients. Critical care services at ACH exist to provide the best in critical care nursing to our patients, loved ones, physicians and Colleagues within the Planetree philosophy.

We provide:

  • Access to state-of-the-art technology
  • Clinical expertise
  • Holistic care for patients and their loved ones
  • Focus on the patient experience

Alliance Community Hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is designed, equipped and staffed to provide heart patients, trauma victims and the critically ill with quality care. Comprised of 12 private rooms surrounding a central nursing station, ICU provides optimum patient monitoring. Each patient is in view of personnel at the nursing station and electronic systems continuously monitor vital signs, such as heart rate, blood pressure, temperature, body fluids and respiration. All rooms are also equipped for emergency resuscitation.

Located adjacent to the ICU, the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) accommodates patients whose conditions are less critical than those admitted to the ICU. As ICU patients' conditions become more stable, they are often moved to PCU as an extension of care from what they were previously receiving in ICU. PCU is a multi-purpose unit that provides intensive medical care, life support systems, cardiac telemetry monitoring and initial cardiac education.

Dialysis Service is available seven days a week to provide Hemodialysis for inpatients in ICU, PCU, Rehab, 4 West and 3 East. The Dialysis Service Department specializes in acute and chronic treatment of patients in varying degrees of renal (kidney) failure who require mechanical assistance with filtering of their blood.
