Wound Care Center Opens

<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Alliance, OH â€“ AllianceCommunityHospital is proud to announce the opening of the Alliance Community Hospital Wound Care Advantageâ„¢ program on the ACH campus at120 E. State Street.
The center will begin treating patients on April 21st and a public/media grand opening will take place on May 2, 2008 as follows:
~A community open house from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.
~Press availabilities will be offered between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.
During 2007, ACH entered a partnership with Wound Care Advantageâ„¢ to establish an on-site clinic that is owned, operated and staffed by AllianceCommunityHospital and supported by WCAâ„¢.
The ACH Wound Care Advantageâ„¢ will be an outpatient clinic treating non-healing wounds, offering a multidisciplinary approach to healing that includes hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT).
Wound care refers to treatment of chronic or non-healing wounds that can be associated with infection, diabetes, radiation, arterial or venous disease and post surgical sites.
â€œHere at ACH, we recognized a need for a local Wound Care component in our community, based on prevalence of related conditions and issues. We are thrilled to be able to offer this vital service to area residents, so that they can receive treatment from experienced professionals with proven positive outcomes in a state-of-the-art facility that is close to home and supported by the resources of Alliance Community Hospital,â€ said Dr. Paul Hudzik.
Dr. Hudzik, who has specialized training in Wound Care techniques, is the Medical Director of ACH WCA. Surgeon Daniel Mitchell, M.D. and podiatrist Leslie Niehaus, D.P.M. will also support the program.
Alliance Community Hospital is fortunate to have a great team of physicians and staff members who will make this program a success. In addition Dr. Hudzik, the ACH WCA â„¢ staff consists of Program Director Melissa Loudon; nurses Cindy Ceroky, RN WCC and Leslie COX, LPN, WCC; Hyperbaric Technician Regina Lenzy, RRT and Office Coordinator Shawna Weber.
