Many Volunteer Opportunities Offered at ACH
Alliance, OH - Alliance Community Hospital will host its monthly “Ventures in Volunteering†orientation program for potential volunteers on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008 in conference room 1-A, which is located directly through the Cafe. Orientation begins at 1:00 p.m. and lasts until approximately 4:00 p.m.
Each month the “Ventures in Volunteering†orientation program is held at the hospital to introduce interested individuals to the mechanics of hospital volunteering. For hospital volunteers, the orientation is a mandatory program that covers everything from Planetree hospital concepts to patient confidentiality to the benefits associated with volunteering at ACH.
“Whether they are baking cookies, discharging patients, offering Soft Touch hand-rub treatments, assisting patrons in the Gift Shop or simply holding a patient's hand, our volunteers take their commitment very seriously and take great pride in the services they provide,†said Marcia Todd, Coordinator of Volunteer Services at ACH.
“They are more than willing to tackle a challenge and embrace the opportunity to make a positive difference in another's life,†Todd adds.
There are 53 clerical and patient-centered service areas from which volunteers may choose to serve.
“With so many service areas to choose from, we are confident that we can provide every volunteer a position they will find both fulfilling and meaningful,†said Todd.
ACH volunteers help hospital patients, visitors and colleagues by assisting with financial projects, conducting pet therapy visits and providing research information.
Call the volunteer department at 330-596-7822 or 330-596-7821 with questions. Orientation session reservations are required. Volunteers must be at least 16.
