Follow Your Heart to a Symposium of Medical Professionals Presented by
Aultman Heart Center at Alliance Community Hospital
ALLIANCE, Ohio (Feb. 9, 2016) ― To commemorate National Heart Month, a panel of health care experts will present “Follow Your Heart,” an educational symposium. The event will be held at Presser Recital Hall on Mount Union’s campus on Thursday, Feb. 25 from 6 to 7 p.m.
The program is sponsored by the Aultman Heart Center at Alliance Community Hospital and the health and medical sciences departments at the University of Mount Union. The symposium will be preceded by a health fair at 5:30 p.m. that will include complimentary heart-healthy refreshments and educational opportunities for attendees. The health fair is being presented by the department of nursing, the physician assistants graduate program and the physical therapy program at Mount Union.
The “Follow Your Heart” program will address various topics on heart health including wellness and rehabilitation, which will include general heart disease awareness, prevention and management.
Members of the panel include John Prodafikas, M.D., F.A.C.C., an Aultman Medical Group Cardiovascular Consultants’ physician who also serves as medical director of the Aultman Heart Center at Alliance Community Hospital, Stephanie Boyd, director of the Aultman Heart Center at Alliance Community Hospital, Stacy Irwin, nurse practitioner at Aultman Hospital, and Debra Lehrer, M.D., senior vice president of Planetree leadership at Alliance Community Hospital.
The program is free and open to the public. Presser Recital Hall is located in the Cope Music Building at the corner of Simpson Street and Union Avenue.
