Dawn Wagner and David Meir to Present Community Lecture
Alliance, OH – With October devoted to breast cancer awareness, Alliance Community Hospital’s Community Lecture Luncheon will focus on “Breast Cancer: Detection, Treatment and Enjoying Life after Breast Cancer” on Friday, October 23 at noon in Conference Room 1A at the hospital.
Dawn Wagner, RDN/LD, registered dietician at Alliance Community Hospital and breast cancer survivor, will be one of two presenters at the event. She has practiced Dietetics at Alliance Community Hospital for 25 years. She is known to many in the Alliance community for her nutrition demonstration booth at the Alliance Farmers’ Market. She is also an active participant with the Dragon Dream Team, an all breast cancer survivor Dragon Boat paddling team.
David Meir, BSN, director of Cardiac and Oncology Services at Alliance Community Hospital will also address the topic. Meir has worked at the hospital for 13 years and is a member of the Association of Cancer Executives (ACE) and the Ohio Organization of Nurse Executives (OONE). He is active in the community, volunteering at events such as the Backpack giveaway held annually at the Alliance Friends Church. He previously worked in the community as a paramedic.
