As a part of the Alliance Community Hospital, Caring Hands, Inc. (CHI) has achieved the Gold Seal of Approval from the Joint Commission of Accreditation (JCA).
CHI, which is affiliated with Alliance Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice, provides home care aide services for the community so that their clients can stay home and live a full and satisfying life.
“Achieving Gold Seal Approval from the Joint Commission of Accreditation exemplifies the commitment and dedication of our staff,” said Judith Steinbrink, Program Manager for CHI. “Each day staff provides the care and services necessary to keep our consumers at home versus being placed in a long term care facility. They do it with compassion and with the willingness to learn and grow each day.”
The JCA surveyor reviewed CHI policies on infection control and prevention measures as well as safety for both colleagues and clients. The surveyor also made two home visits to see how the Home Health Aides worked on location with the clients and their families, noting that the aides presented themselves professionally and they all followed their plan of care. It was also noted how well the aides maintained the client’s privacy.
“[Our staff members are] asked each day to represent this organization in a positive and professional manner,” said Steinbrink, “thus demonstrating CHI’s commitment to the community.”
