Alzheimer's Symposium to be held Saturday, October 17
ALLIANCE -- A community-wide event focusing on Alzheimer’s disease will be held Saturday, October 17 at First Baptist Church, 1659 W. State St. from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Sponsored by Alliance Hospice and Altercare of Alliance in conjunction with the Alzheimer’s Association, the Sam Donohoe, Jr. Alzheimer’s Symposium will feature educational speakers presenting information about the disease, an exhibit hall with resources for families and individuals, and faith-based awareness discussions to help those affected cope with the disease.
Organizers have named the symposium in honor of retired Alliance Community Hospital administrator Sam Donohoe, Jr., who is currently living in Pennsylvania with the disease and is expected to attend the event.
Featured speakers will be Dr. Debra Lehrer of Alliance Community Hospital and Debbie Greenawalt of Altercare of Alliance.
The symposium is open to the public free of charge and lunch is being provided courtesy of Alliance Community Hospital and Altercare of Alliance. RSVPs are highly encouraged. To register, call 330-823-3118.
