ACH To Hold "Your Gift From the Heart" Blood Drive
Alliance Community Hospital and the American Red Cross have teamed up to hold a blood drive with the theme of “your gift from the heartâ€, to be held on February 12 at ACH.
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
“We selected this theme because we feel so strongly about giving the gift of life, which in this case is literally making a blood donation,†ACH blood drive committee member Paula Lee explains.
“During February we are hit from all directions with hearts, love, caring and gifts for that special someone. This is an opportunity for our area residents to combine all of those factors into one selfless act. The gift of a productive unit of blood can potentially mean life for three individuals.â€
The blood drive will be held from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m. in conference room 1-A of the hospital, which is located on the first floor.
Donors can go online at www.givelife.org and to schedule their own appointment, or they can contact the ACH Volunteer Department at 330-596-7822 or 330-596-7821, and the staff will schedule an appointment for the donor.
Donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh no less than 110 pounds and be able to provide a picture ID the day of the donation.
A very special Valentine's Day raffle with be held for donors with gifts from Miller's Flowerland, The Treasure Cove, Anastasiades Chocolates, Heggy's and Grinders.
A donation of blood is a gift that does not have a price tag attached to it. Or, to put it in perspective by coining a popular phrase, “The gift of life – pricelessâ€.
