At the meeting, held Oct. 10 at the JosephM.BrueningRedCrossCenter in Cleveland, a number of different organizations and businesses from northeast Ohio were also recognized for their sponsorship programs.
ACH was one of three health care facilities recognized for its achievements under the “Hospital Sponsorship†category, along with Louis Stokes Cleveland Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center and Louis Stokes Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Brecksville Division.
The award was presented by Donor Service Senior Director Carolyn Kean.
Becky Wilson, lab coordinator, and Paula Lee, blood bank technician, accepted the award on behalf of the blood drive committee.
ACH's decided to partner with the Red Cross to implement this monthly program to be able to provide a much-needed service to its patients.
Since launching the program in May, the hospital has seen much success with its drives, meeting or exceeding the goal number of the total units collected each month.
The program has also formed a number of community partnerships through sponsorship opportunities available to both corporate and not-for-profit organizations.
ACH will host its next monthly blood drive on Tuesday, Oct. 24. The drive will be held in conference room 1-A from 12 – 5:45 p.m., located off of the Café on the first floor of the hospital.
Appointments can be scheduled online at www.givelife.org or by contacting the Volunteer Services Department at 330-596-7822 or 330-596-7821.
