ACH Receives Radiology Accreditation
<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />AllianceCommunityHospital has just been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in Magnetic Resonance Imagining (MRI) as the result of recent surveys by the AmericanCollege of Radiology.
“We're thrilled with this acknowledgment, which validates the high-quality of imaging care we provide to our patients,†said David Shroades, Chief Technology Officer at ACH, noting that the Mammography program has also received renewal of its ACR accreditation.
Shroades said that the goal of the ACH Imaging Department is to become wholly ACR accredited. “Long term, we seek to achieve the highest levels of certification because our objective is to offer patients the most technologically-advanced imaging services available,†he said.
The ACR is a national organization that serves more than 32,000 diagnostic and interventional radiologists, radiation oncologists and nuclear medicine and medical physicists.
Headquartered in Reston, VA, the ACR awards accreditation to facilities based on achievement of high-practice standards and only after peer-review evaluations. These assessments are conducted by board-certified physicians and medical physicists. ACR surveyors publish their findings to the ACR's Committee on Accreditation, which subsequently provides detailed reports on the collected data.
