Alliance Community Hospital (ACH) CEO Stan W. Jonas, FACHE, and Damon Keller, President of General Commercial Corporation in Sebring, recently presented Tyler Jones, a third year medical student at NEOMED in Rootstown, with a $2,000 scholarship.
This scholarship was raised through the ACH Foundation’s Annual Charity Golf Classic. During this year’s event, golf teams sponsored local high schools. The athletic coaches and directors of those schools were invited to participate in free health seminars and CPR certification. Team General Commercial Corporation won the putting contest and had the privilege of choosing a student in the medical field to receive the Charity Golf Classic scholarship.
Jones, a 2008 Sebring graduate, received his bachelor degree in integrated sciences from Kent State University in August 2010. He is currently fulfilling a clerkship at Akron City/Summa Health in surgery.
“It’s always so rewarding to be able to give back to our community and this is especially poignant as we are helping one of our own area natives further his medical education,” said Stan Jonas, CEO, FACHE.
