“We're so proud to have received this continued endorsement of our clinical achievement,†said Sue Grove, MT (HEW), Manager of the ACH lab.
“We had already received this accreditation in the past and this national recognition renewal proves our continued commitment to maintaining the highest level of service for our patients,†said Becky Wilson, MT (ASCP), Manager of the ACH lab. ACH originally received CAP accreditation about 20 years ago and has been granted renewals for each ensuing year.
Wilson and Grove received notification of this distinction last week. It was granted after a site inspection by the CAP in December resulted in a conclusion of “excellence of the services being provided.â€
ACH is one of more than 6,000 U.S. labs to be accredited by the CAP, which launched its laboratory accreditation program in the early 1960s.
CAP accreditation is determined by inspectors who examine a lab's records and quality control practices over the course of a two-year term, during which time its staff members, qualifications, equipment, facilities and safety program/record are also scrutinized.
“We couldn't be more pleased about the nod, which is further evidence of our commitment to provision of the finest healthcare programs and services for our patients,†said Grove.
The CAP is a medical society serving nearly 16,000 physician and laboratory members worldwide.
