“Such reaffirmation of our clinical achievement is welcome though not a surprise to us,†said Sue Wells, MT (HEW) and Co-Manager of the ACH lab.
“We are proud to receive this most recent accreditation. This national recognition renewal proves our continued commitment to maintaining the highest level of service for our patients,†said Becky Wilson, MT (ASCP) and Co-Manager of the ACH lab. ACH originally received CAP accreditation about 20 years ago and has been granted bi-annual renewals accordingly.
Wilson and Grove received notification of this distinction last week. It was granted after an onsite inspection by the CAP in October resulted in a conclusion of “excellence of the services being provided.â€
ACH is one of more than 7,000 U.S. labs to be accredited by the CAP, which launched its laboratory accreditation program in the early 1960s.
CAP accreditation is determined by inspectors who examine a lab's records and quality control practices over the course of a two-year term, during which time its staff members' qualifications, equipment, facilities and safety program/record are also scrutinized.
ACH's lab is now accredited through November 19, 2011.
“We couldn't be more pleased about the nod, which is further evidence of our commitment to provision of the finest healthcare programs and services for our patients,†said Wells.
The CAP is a medical society serving nearly 17,000 physician and laboratory members worldwide.
