ACH Holding Charity Golf Classic 2009
June 10, 2009
Your summer tee time has never meant so much. Don't miss your chance to support one of the area's most important fundraising events, the 10th Annual Charity Golf Classic 2009 at Alliance Country Club on June 22. Once again, the Alliance Community Hospital Foundation is hosting a four-person scramble event, which includes 18-holes of golf, carts, lunch, dinner, and giveaways. And, as always, 100 percent of the proceeds from the event will benefit our “goodwill neighbor designees†- the Alliance Area YMCA, the Alliance Neighborhood Center and the Stark County Interagency Council on Homelessness. This year's keynote speaker will be pediatrician Dr. David Katz. He will be speaking on behalf of the program he is coordinating through the Alliance Area YMCA benefiting children's wellness. The goal of the program will be to target area children who may be at risk for health challenges such as childhood obesity or Type Two diabetes. Dr. Katz is jumpstarting the effort in hopes of teaching kids to be more active and informing them on how to make healthier choices. The program will encourage children to be active more hours per day, more times per week. Though there will be a nominal fee for participation in the program, no child will be turned away based on inability to pay. It's fundraising events such as the Charity Golf Classic which make such programs possible. For the past decade, this event has been helping to improve the lives of people right here in our community. And, since philanthropic giving is nearly at an all time low, it's more important than ever to support non-profit programs and services that means so much to so many with so little. Won't you please be a part of this crucial fundraiser? This year's event will reflect the economic conditions of the day. It's a scaled back outing with merely good fellowship, good intentions and good company as the return on this year's investment. This is philanthropy in the truest form. Please help us to help the community's most needy members. There are still many great spots open for teams, as well as sponsorship opportunities. Anyone interested in sponsorship should contact the PR/Foundation office of ACH NO LATER THAN FRIDAY, JUNE 12th at 330-596-7575. Please consider a team or sponsorship for the 10th Annual Charity Golf Classic. Your bogie could make a world of difference in the life of a neighbor in need. If you have any questions or require more information, please contact the ACH PR/Foundation office.
