ACH and the American Red Cross Team Up For Blood Drive in Memory of Lee Samblanet
There are everyday things that we all take for granted in our lives. Attending weddings, going fishing, enjoying the sights and sounds of nature, or playing a game of pool with friends. These are all things Lee Samblanet loved to do during his short life.
Even though he was only on this earth for 24 years, he took great care never to waste any of the great gift that was his life and enjoyed it to the fullest right up to the last day.
Whether it was soaking up the sun or walking through the woods, Lee proudly lived life in the most robust way he could, despite the fact that he suffered with cancer during his final years.
As a way of honoring his memory, the family of Lee Samblanet chooses to host a blood drive each year. One of the reasons they do this is because of their strong belief that Lee wouldn't have lived as long as he did if not for the many blood transfusions he received while battling cancer. The American Red Cross regularly provides a safe blood supply for so many in the community who need it for one reason or another - just as Lee did. Acknowledging the important work done by the American Red Cross in the Alliance Community is one way the family of Lee Samblanet chooses to celebrate his life.
"It truly is a day of love and laughter, and in addition, our homemade goodies await you as a delicious reward. Please join our family as we give back to the community in a way which will allow others to really live with cancer," said Lee's mother, Brenda Samblanet.
Please plan to attend the Blood Drive in Lee's Memory at Alliance Community Hospital on Thursday, March 10, from 9 am - 7 pm. Please call 330-525-7397 to schedule an appointment.
