Giving Back

Fundraising

As a non-profit organization, Aultman Alliance Community Hospital thrives on opportunities for you giving back to your community.

We would not be able to serve the community as we do without your help.

Why donate to a hospital?

Your gifts enable us to further our mission of patient-centered care. Some of the things that donations have helped provide in the past are community health seminars, facility enhancements and patient education classes.

All gifts of time, treasure or talent, no matter the size, are appreciated and recognized.

Our generous donors have been an essential part in providing and improving the quality of our health care services, technology and facilities.

Through a variety of annual campaigns, donations and special events, Aultman Alliance Community Hospital raises the money necessary to continue improving in all aspects of health care. Annual events like the Steppin’ Out for Hospice 5K Run/Walk and the Charity Golf Classic are examples of the fundraising events we host. Many of the services available at the hospital are made possible by the contributions of generous community members.

Please consider a gift to Aultman Alliance Community hospital. Your contribution may be in honor or memory of a loved one, because of personal experience, or a desire to invest in the care of others by helping us provide the community with the best health care experience close to home.

Pet Therapy

Paws & Reflect Therapy Dogs International, Inc. is a generous volunteer service that comes to visit the Aultman Alliance Community Hospital and Community Care Center every week.

This is one of the lesser-known services provided by the hospital available to all patients.

Therapy dogs help the healing process.

Therapy dogs come in all shapes and sizes. From purebred to mixed breed, each dog has a unique personality, and all dogs have been certified through Therapy Dogs International, Inc. Patients can receive free visits from a therapy dog by asking their nurse or calling the Volunteer office at 330-596-7822.

Volunteer Opportunities

Giving your time to help serve the community is just as valuable as other donations. If you want to give back to the community with volunteer service, we would love to have your time.

How to Volunteer

Not all donations are monetary. If you would like to help with your time, you may call the Volunteer Office at 330-596-7822. Click here to fill out a volunteer application.

Each summer, we offer a Summer Teen Program for high school students between age 16 and graduation to volunteer during their break from school. This volunteering opportunity gives students the chance to gain non-clinical experience in a hospital setting while feeling the satisfaction of helping others. Only students in the summer program will be permitted to volunteer with us throughout the school calendar year. The application process begins in March and ends in May, so check in during that time to fill out an application.

Volunteering with Us

Our volunteers serve in Aultman Alliance Community Hospital, our Professional Office Building, Alliance Aultworks Occupational Medicine and Hospice. Within these locations, volunteers aid in nearly every department, providing non-clinical services.

Dr. James J. Thomas Scholarship

The Alliance Community Auxiliary is now accepting applications for the Dr. James J. Thomas Scholarship, a $1500, non-renewable scholarship awarded annually to four local high school seniors interested in pursuing a career in the healthcare field.

Applications are available in the hospital gift shop and high school guidance counselors. Applications must be submitted along with a copy of an official high school transcript. Deadline for submissions is March 22nd.

The Auxiliary Scholarship Fund was created in 1987 to provide financial assistance to students entering the health care field. The fund was named after the late Dr. James J. Thomas, a hospital anesthesiologist who upon retirement became a hospital volunteer.

Scholarship recipients are selected by a committee representing the Auxiliary, healthcare professionals and the community. The committee awards points based on interest in the health care field, volunteer work, school and community involvement and general academic achievement. The 2024 chairperson is Mary Lou Williams.
