This is a challenging time of year to sponsor blood drives! With the impending cold and snowy weather, many donors find it very difficult to attend local blood drives. Therefore, it is imperative that we do our very best when recruiting donors for these winter blood drives.
On Thursday, January 7th, the Alliance Community Hospital will host their monthly American Red Cross blood drive from 7:00 a. m. until 1:00 p.m. in Conference Room 1-A of the hospital.
“While we cannot control Mother Nature, we are encouraging anyone who is able to donate during this drive to do so. This is the time of year we all make resolutions. Let me suggest a resolution of donating blood every 56 days”, suggests Marcy Todd, Volunteer Coordinator at ACH.
“There is no better feeling than knowing you have helped someone. And when you donate a productive unit of blood, there is the potential that you have actually made a positive difference for three individuals for just an hour of your time!”
Donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh no less than 110 pounds, be in general good health and be able to provide a valid picture ID or donor card at the time of the donation.
Donors will receive a meal ticket to the ACH Café and a drawing will be held for a donated gift. Each donor also receives a gift certificate to area McDonald’s for a choice of several of their menu items at no charge.
