On Thursday, May 13th, the monthly American Red Cross/Alliance Community Hospital blood drive will be held in conference room 1-A of the hospital. The hours for the drive are 7:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
“We are just beginning the summer season, and traditionally that is a period of time when we run dangerously low on our blood supply and blood products. If we can be a step ahead of the game this year, it will be a bonus for members of our community who may need these products,” shares Paula Lee, a colleague in the ACH lab.
Donors must be 17 years of age, unless a written consent is given by a parent/guardian for a 16 year old. They must be in good health on the day of the donation and weigh no less than 110 pounds. All donors must also present a photo ID or their donor card.
Every drive that is scheduled has a goal. Those goals are established using a formula that will insure all of the regions needs are being met. Therefore, reaching and even surpassing the goal of our any drive is imperative to meeting those needs.
The Business Express sponsor of this drive is the Alliance Quota Club who will be offering a gardening basket as a giveaway prize.
“May is National Speech and Hearing Month. The Quota Club embraces these two areas through testing, education and support. We are happy to be able to sponsor this drive during a month that highlights one of our missions.” Lee said.
